Dear Bawhoccers, after 6-7 successful years of running first the Royal Unihoc Society, then RBS Linlithgow, it is now time for me to “move upstairs”, as they say, and for the younger generation to take the club further onwards and upwards. Dave has become the new club captain, and taken over running the club along with vice-captain Gav. I am immensely proud of our club, the way it runs, the attitude & camaraderie of our players, and the fact that we have avoided the basement spot in the Northern League in both 2007 and 2008, reached the cup semi-final, and competed in national competitions - a far cry from the group of pals who started knocking a hockey ball about for a laugh! I look forward to continuing to play (as much as a family allows!), and seeing the team achieve bigger and brighter things in the future. xxxLe but du joueur au компютри втора употребаhttp://www.pokersuperbe.com/information-au-sujet-de-jeu-poker-en-ligne.html en ligne est de réaliser la meilleure combinaison, pour gagner la partie.
The NL2007-08 season closed in style for RBS, who played valiantly at T6 in Dundee to gain a point and move off the foot of the Northern League table, and up to 7th place. This equals their excellent position from last season, and shows a remarkable turnaround from their poor start to the season. Again drastically short-benched, an RBS team featuring Nick, Gav, Dave, Chris(II), Daniel, Kev, & guest Neil lost 8-6 to Aberdeen, but drew 5-5 with derby rivals Forth Pheonix. In their final game a tired team collapsed 17-7 to Aberdeen. Many congratulations to all the team for emulating last season’s success, and hopefully this is the start of grand progress for the team.

RBS Linlithgow put in a couple of good performances this weekend, at a tournament marred by temper tantrums and handbags between other teams… RBS enjoyed two pleasant games, the first of which was narrowly lost 4-2 to Dundee Northern Lights. After finishing the second period leading 2-1, RBS were caught out in the final third, and lost a hotly contested goal to fall 3-2 behind, where it appeared that an infringement was made on their keeper. Much credit to Dundee though, who put in a skillful and well-mannered performance. RBS’s second game saw their first league victory of the season, as they confidently demolished their nearest league rivals Balwearie Lightning 6-2. Performance of the day was from Dave up front who scored 4 goals, while Chris scored 2, and Daniel and Steve also got on the scoresheet - and a special mention to goalie Pete for getting 2 assists! Good job
From Monday 18th February, weekly Monday night training at Drumbrae will now start at 7pm until 9pm, to allow us longer for training and practice matches. Cost will remain at £5 per head per session. If there is not a good attendance at these meetings, we will revert to the original time of 8-9pm, so it is imperative to try to attend please. Training will be followed by pub-socialising, which we are intending to make a regular habit…. (woohoo!)
T4 saw further good performances from RBS - in their first match of the day they held NL highfliers Balwearie Thunder at 1-1 for a long period, only to concede a bizarre own goal from their goalkeeping legend “The Mayor” before finally succumbing to a 4-1 defeat. Not to outdone by himself, Pete actually placed the ball into his own net during RBS’ second game, when a tired team dragged out a 14-1 defeat to league-leaders Chapel. Well, if you’re going to look like David Dickinson, why should you save any goals?!?!? And there’ll be no more of these team antics on this behaviour…..

RBS Linlithgow recently took part in a four-team friendly tournament in Dundee, with Dundee NL, Aberdeen Oilers and Forth Pheonix. Enjoyable games saw RBS trial new formations in enjoyable but unsuccesful games against the two northern teams, before switching tactics to defeat league high-fliers Forth 4-3 to complete a good day out. A few hours in the pub aterwards completed an excellent day. Well done to all the organisers and especially those who took part for RBS - Dave, Gav, Steve, Kingy, Mark, Matt, Krystof, Kev, Nick, & Daniel.

On Saturday 19th Januray, RBS Linlithgow are competing in a 4-team round-robin friendly tournament in Dundee, along with Dundee Northern Lights, Aberdeen Oilers, and Forth Pheonix. This is set to be a fun, easy-going tournament in line with these teams’ approach to the sport, followed by…. hmmm, perhaps some pints! Woohoo!
Tournament is 10am-1pm, please arrive in Dundee by 9.30am to ensure on-time kick-off.
Due to lack of numbers from our team (and icy weather) our friendly with dundee tonight is CANCELLED. Next training is Monday 7th January @ Drumbrae. Next league tournament is Sunday 27th January. Hoewever, we now hope to have a 4-way friendly tournament with Dundee, Aberdeen and Forth on Saturday 12th January, 10am-1pm, in Dundee. Please note this date now and actually try to attend. Thanks.
December’s NL Christmas Cup saw a resurgence in fortunes for RBS, as they progressed to the semi-finals of the hotly-contested tournament. Again a skeleton squad of 7, (Nick, Gav, Kev, Daniel, Graeme, Mat, & excellent trialist Krystof) without a keeper (further last-minute pullout), battled hard and ran themselves ragged to compete with the NL’s bigboys. We have to say a big thank-you to Derek Baillie, of Forth Pheonix, who deputised for us in goal, and did an excellent job. RBS played Dundee in the cup quarter finals and won a tight match 2-1, with goals from Dan & Nick, and some excellent defensive play from Mat, Gav and Krystof. In the semi-finals RBS came up against bigboys Hawick, whose precision play showed up just how tired the RBS players were, as Hawick ran out 13-0 winners, eventually progressing to win the cup itself. However, RBS can be very proud of a first competitive victory this season, and some much improved team displays.
RBS are pleased to announce the signing of ‘Superkev’ Kevin McAndie from Balwearie. Cheery, devilishly handsome, and always polite, Kev has long been a popular player with RBS, um, despite the fact that someone might have hospitalised him the first time they played against each other. (ahem). Sorry Kev.
SuperKev brings renewed motivation to the team, as well as experience and game knowledge, which could prove a vital help for RBS’ poor season so far. He has also immediately volunteered to help with the running of the club, demonstrating his generous nature!
